As a southern girl, I think of beaches as those wide expanses of sand on the South Carolina or Florida coast where the water’s warm enough to hop on a raft to ride the waves. Yes, I still like riding them. To me, Oregon—Alan’s favorite—has always represented a rugged seacoast with small beach coves to explore. Our trip to Newport and Waldport is proving me wrong. There are long, wide beaches to walk all along this part of the Oregon coast. However you won’t find me wading into the cold, current-driven water.
Always Hungry update: This week’s NSV (non-scale victory), I’ve lost an inch if you total up the five places on my body that I measure. Slow, but steady progress. I’ll take that. And I’m sure some of it has to do with all the walks on the beach that Alan and I have been taking. On the Always Hungry plan, we call that joyful movement. A beach walk certainly qualifies as joyful for me. Thanks for letting me stay accountable by reporting my progress here. If you have questions, send me an email.
